American designer and artist Mauricio Arias became known for his design work internationally during the 80’s

as creative director co-founder and partner of arias + sarraille and subsequently founder and creative

director of arias associates, based in Palo Alto, California.Next to a succesful carrer in design,

Mauricio brings a new range of his talent with his highly individual and soulful art work. His experienced hand

can be found in his layered and textured abstracts worked out with mixed media such as lime paint, fabric, oil

and acrylics, charcoal, etc.and in combination with a sophisticated sense of color. His works capture a high

sense of simplicity and elegance.In Florence, ITALY, MAURICIO STUDIED PRINT-MAKING AT THE RENOWNED “ IL BISONTE,

SCUOLA INTERNAZIONALE PER L’ARTE GRAFICA”. SUBSEQUENTLY HE DEVELOPED SEVERAL MIXED MEDIA TECHNIQUES USING

PASTELS, GOUACHE, CHARCOAL, WATERCOLOR, TEXTILES, LIME AND CHALK PAINT AND ACRYLICS. All his paintings are done

on belgian linen canvas and hand-pressed cotton rag archival paper. this technique gives hiscanvases a

textural feel unique to his work.
